in my opinion, we get only peaches of the changes wich r in requiem alive... i thing gravity gives a shit for the ppl from the american servers...

I'll wait and see. It will bring a fresh feel to the game but only time will tell if that's a good thing.

I just don't get it realy, EVERYBODY knows what's wrong with the game, everybody agree's.

It seems this anger speaks vastly to the average level of intelligence and indoctrination of our playerbase. It saddens me that instead of thanking Gravity for the release of new, original content, the players are overwhelmingly expressing malcontent over a simple name, a name that came about not because of an offical announcement on Gravity's part, but due to rumors and the like. Your desperate grasp to this rumored manufacture and your misplaced anger makes me wonder if the rest of you are worth playing with. Be glad we got something as imaginative and meaningful as "Memento Mori" and not something as bland as "Requiem:Alive".
ReplyDeleteTake this into consideration: The phrase "Memento Mori" (literally, remember you will die) means to remind us of our mortality. This says to me that the players will experience greater challenges with the coming update, and I, for one, anticipate such gladly.
Now comes the inevitable tl;dr.

As far as I heard U can loose lvls, it'll be nice to see someone in lvl 30 gear(remember, they will die, and lose lvl) in the 29-IM/FoC. But... In my opinnion Gravity doesn't care too much about European players(but we are plenty(see SvS timing):-( ).

ReplyDeleteThe name..., well, memento mori sound funny, yes, and maybe alive sound better. But if you think it, Alive is a common place (and an obvious name) and means nothing. For the other side Memento Mori dont sound so great but mean something and give the idea of chalenge.
I give my congratulations to the people that bring the Memento Mori name. Is original and great.
Well, we will see soon if the S2 come to be good or a fail.

Not meaning to offend anyone but I'm guessing that the ones that complain about the name are Americans, well guys not everything needs to be in English. I think the name fits because: Requiem comes from Latin also known as Missa pro defunctis or Missa defunctorum (Mass for the Deceassed); now that we know what Requiem means we see that Memento Mori (Remember you will die) is perfect and makes sense alongside Requiem.

I'm Romanian (Romanian comes from Latin) and I think a Latin name is a perfect choice for a game which already has 1 Latin name, so 2 won't hurt.
Again, not trying to offend but in my experience only Americans want everything to be in English, well Requiem was always named part Latin so deal with it.

Just went to play this game cause i was bored of L2 playing still.
But so far i wish i would speak korean and play at korean Requiem, they at least fixing game, US gravity give a shit, so many exploits in game. Bugs and other thing. Its just a shame because its not a private server but official server.
I am just curious if S2 will be only pve game as it is now. Miss fight between guilds and so not only stupid pk system at hammerine where high lvls pk low lvls. Even Hero online had better system lol some maps were free to pk.
I really dont care if it is Memento Mori, or Demento Mori, or any other crap. I just want see changes nothing else matter. Name of game doesnt make a game better, and u will still call this game Requiem, and not Memento Mori.

ReplyDeleteI can care less for the name. As long as it brings good changes/fixes (we'll see when its released) I'm cool with it. I'm still playing Requiem no matter what. Although the Ctrl-Click on target PK system needs a huge revamp.

About the skills get nerfed, removed, etc. I think it will be fine. I'm looking at it from a Defiler's standpoint, and since I am a defi I'm not looking forward to ToS being nerfed but its fair since all the other classes will have all or most of their sleeps and fears removed. Classes will probably be harder to play, but they will be more unique. And I was always annoyed by the Templar's mass sleep spell in pvp. And other classes should not have the fears that they have now. I always thought that was more of a SH playing style.

maybe we are just expecting/asking too much from Gravity, they are not Blizzard or NCsoft, they lack experience of "big" "serious" mmos.
This is their first step in to the world of big players...
That said, Requiem doesnt look/feel so bad after all, doesnt it?

This made me lol real hard. Back on topic, season 2 will be great.
Of course not all changes will be good for everyone. I'll miss many of my skills, and will have to work harder since many others will be nerfed... but it's a game with many ways to play and many runs to do. Elementalists or Defilers can say 'RMM sucks', while Tempests or Warlords will probably say 'RMM rocks' Requiem is still an unbalanced game, and of course will be unbalanced on RMM too (as 100% of minimally nice mmos), but everyone wanna get stronger and anyone wanna get weaker. So don't care if u won't be able to kill everything you see any more, or if you will lose your overpowered perma-stun or perma-fear. Just stop bitching about everything you still don't know about, and wait. And THEN, search, compare, and if you find a better choice, go for it.

mmm...this is close enough that I should leave it alone, but I'm having fun..so...Requiem is from requies, which is the first word of the mass for the dead. 'The Requiem' is what you're referring to, which is the polyphonic setting of the Requiem Mass. :)

I had no idea about the Romanian language, but it makes sense. Also, I from the quick research I did I found that it is the closest language to classical Latin. Pretty cool. Last, I actually like the name. Requiem: Alive has no flair.

ReplyDeletei am looking forward to some of the class distinctions but i see some of them as sending a big fat fuck u to particular classes...as far as pvp it will be as one sided as a flounder. making passive weapon masteries class specific is a big mistake and ppl will feel screwed. Still i will choose avenger, druid, defiler, and warlord. i even made some lvl 30 uterious Guardian's just to see what it turns into. lol
